CAN I SCREAM?!!!!!!

Today a BIG present came in the mail!!!!

Thats right, Fedex pulled up and I looked out my front window and started screaming because I knew exactly what it was!!!!

It was my SILHOUETTE MACHINE!!!! 

I SCREAMED SO LOUD I THINK THE WHOLE TOWN HEARD, and after thanking the fed-ex lady numerous times (im sure she thought i belonged in the mental institution) 

I ran inside to open it, meanwhile Noah was screaming too! He had no idea why, but he knew this was BIG!!!

 OH, THE FUN I WILL HAVE WITH THIS BABY!!!!!

a little green

I know, I already told everyone that I LOVE St.Patrick's Day but I wanted to tell EVERYONE again!! I LOVE St. Patrick's day!! I even needed Noah to be "green" so I whipped up this great little shirt for him!

(Please ignore the fraying at the top, I fixed that with some fray check)

OH THE CUTENESS, DONT YOU JUST WANT TO DIE?!?!

Here is what you will need:

Sewing machine of course

A plain T-shirt

Steam a seam (double stick fusible web)

2 "d" rings

Thread (not pictured) 

Scissors

A tie pattern ( I just drew one from scratch)

A piece of fabric (about 1/4 a yard)

PolyPro belting  (or you can use another piece of fabric for the suspenders)

First, cut out your tie out of the fabric and the double sided fusible webbing

Now, if you like the look of the tie separated, when sewn on, you can cut it now...

 Now peel off one side of the fusible web and iron the fabric to the fusible web

Now peel off the other side of the fusible web and iron it onto your shirt,

 (forgive me, I didn't picture this step!)

Now it is ready to be sewn on!

And then pin on your D rings and belting

(tip: I wasn't thinking when I chose to use the belting, IT FRAYS! I used some fray check to fix this but you could just use fabric and the fusible web instead of belting)

Sew it on and.....

THATS IT, YOUR DONE!!!

Now, show it off Noah!

Now I really cant wait for our St.Patrick's day party!!

The things no one ever told me

No one ever told me that when I was sick I still would have to take care of a toddler who is sick and throwing up as well. 

No one ever told me I would be up at 3am washing sheets because they are covered with regurgitated chocolate milk

No ever told me that Momma's dont get breaks and momma's dont get time to be sick

No one ever told me that I would be standing in my kitchen with my toddler in arms with puke running down my leg.

No one ever talks about these things!

I wonder why?

Well I want to talk about it!!!! I want to talk about the many sleepless nights, I want to talk about the toddlers that wont sleep in their own bed, I want to talk about the book shelf that is emptied out all over the floor daily, I want to talk about waking up at 2 am and finding your baby still watching cartoons, I want to talk about the terrible eating habits...

I want to talk about why after all these things, do we as mothers find it to be the most gratifying work we've ever done?

And why we love our  babies with an over powering, unconditional love, and why I wouldn't change this for the world (except maybe the puke running down my leg)

HERE'S TO YOU MOM'S OUT THERE THAT DO THIS WITH MULTIPLE CHILDREN!!!!

From our sick house, to yours!!

Cherry Blossom Wreath

All of the sudden I am in a "spring-y" mood... So I decided we needed a spring wreath on our door so off to Michael's I headed... and I picked up these

I love the look of the "wispy" wreaths but decided it needed some color, so I picked up some cherry blossoms because what is more springy than cherry blossoms, right?

Initially, I thought I would have to use the wire to kind of tie in the cherry blossoms but nope, they just stick right into the wreath and stay..

 I love the outcome, what do you think?

My Prayer

Today I am saddened by the news of this tsunami in Japan, I am especially sad for the families that have lost their loved ones.

If things like this don't make you appreciate what you have, I don't know what will.

My Prayer is that the families will heal and find hope in this terrible time, my prayer is that God will lift them up  and carry them through this!

 Please keep Japan in your prayers!!!

Cold day entertainment!

Today's project was playdough! 

I am a big fan of homemade play dough simply because of the fact that I know exactly what's going into it and Noah likes to "taste" it, plus it will keep him entertained for hours!!

You'll need:

 2 cups flour

2 cups water

1 cup salt

2 Tablespoons vegtable oil

1 Tablespoon cream of tatar(optional for elasticity)

Mix all ingredients in a saucepan on medium heat

This is what it should look like

Continually stir (watch the kiddos carefully around the heat! I only allowed this for picture purposes! ;-)

Then it will eventually look like this:

It will look like mashed potatoes!

Take off the heat and put on a cool surface to let it cool (I put ours on a cutting board)

Let it cool

When it is cool to the touch, knead it until it is silky smooth

If you want to color your playdough break into 4 balls and put a whole in the center to drop food coloring into them

 Drop 5 or 6 drops of coloring into the dough and knead them until the coloring is incorporated into it!

And thats it!
